Thank you for taking the time to apply for assistance through the Mama Wilder Foundation, a 501(c)(3) created for the purposes of supporting women who need it most. 

We are a grassroots organization with a small team sifting through applications. If you have not heard back in one week from the date of your application, please contact info@themamawilderfoundation.org with URGENT in the subject line.

Important notes:

We are not a crisis intervention agency. If you are in danger, please contact 911.  

If you do not have a personal checking account, we are unable to offer cash assistance directly to you. Your local credit union or bank chapter will have resources for free or low-cost checking accounts you might be able to open entirely online. 

If you have recently experienced violence or threats of violence, please contact your local courthouse for information on how to apply for a civil protection order or contact law enforcement. If you are in urgent need of housing and you do not have a bank account, please Google "women's shelter near me."

Civil protection order applications are typically free and do not require criminal charges to be filed. If you are seeking financial assistance from us to hire an attorney to apply for a protection order, we encourage you to contact your local courthouse for information on filing fee waivers and self-help resources for survivors of domestic violence. 

We are no longer able to fund family law legal retainers. If you are working with an attorney and are no longer able to afford them, please seek information from that attorney on self-representation and payment plans.

We do not accept applications on behalf of other women.

We do not assist in relocation costs or travel out-of-state with children for the purposes of evading court orders.
